The first chapter of The Slow Path, Vol.1 Night’s Embrace, portrays eight moments of solitude and self-reflection at night—simple yet essential rituals of warmth and tenderness.
Each night, I cultivate small healing rituals—practices that, when done slowly, allow me to truly feel and understand my emotions.
◌ Brushing Teeth – "As you brush your teeth, take a careful look in the mirror. See yourself as you are today. Let the toothbrush freshen up not just your mouth, but also the memories of the day."
◌ Bathing – "Your favorite scent fills the space as you bathe, while the flowing water gently washes away the thoughts of the day."
◌ Goodnight – "Slip into your favorite pajamas (choosing the color is part of the joy), gather a few cozy blankets and pillows by your bedside, and get ready to embrace sweet dreams."
◌ Lights Out – "Lying in bed, you reach for the switch. The moment the light fades to darkness… that’s the doorway to dreams."
◌ Bread – After a long day of work, I give myself a small reward. Opening my snack cabinet, filled with all my favorite treats, is enough to bring a sense of satisfaction.
◌ Tea – Pouring hot water into a teacup, I wait for the tea to steep. In those quiet moments, accompanied by the rising aroma, my thoughts gradually settle.
◌ Journaling – My journal is a tool for organizing my inner world. With each stroke of the pen, my mind feels clearer. If I go too long without writing, it’s as if dust starts to gather in my heart.
◌ Writing – Writing feels like scrubbing my soul with words. No matter what I write—long or short, good or bad—by the time I’m done, my heart shines a little brighter.
